Have you tried unsuccessfully to train your dog?
Well that can all change with my positive and rewarding
training methods. I will help you to understand how your dog thinks
and how you need to use your natural body language to build a form
of communication with your best friend.
My methods are both humane and fun for both dogs
and their owners. No gadgets, no punishment and all training utilises
a dogs natural instincts. Your dog will choose willingly to work
for you.
At Dog Logics I offer
Puppy school is an introductory class
for puppies under 16 weeks at the start of class. This class places
more emphasis on puppy behaviors like inappropriate mouthing and
biting as well as house training advice. Classes are small in size,
fun for you and your puppy and very effective.
You will receive all handouts and reading material at this class.
You will also have several important homework assignments.Course
of 4 x 1hour classes.
Companion Dog I is a class for dogs
of all ages that are just beginning training. You will learn to
teach your dog to pay attention when asked, greet politely, come
when called, walk on a loose leash and lie down and stay. Management
skills, socialization and problem solving will also be stressed.
Classes are small in size, fun for you and your dog and very effective.
Course of 6 x 1 hour classes.
Attendance is required at the first class. It is an informative
seminar and dogs DO NOT attend. You will receive handouts and reading
material. You will also have several easy, but important homework
assignments.
The Interactive Learning class is the next step
for those who have successfully completed Puppy Class and Companion
Dog I with us. It would also be appropriate for clients from other
programs with a firm understanding of positive reinforcement training
techniques. Placement of students from other programs will be contingent
on evaluation by the instructor.
In this class your dog will learn to respond reliably during exposure
to increasing distractions. You will take the next step in teaching
a really Reliable Recall. You will learn to teach your dog to respond
to signals at a distance, be introduced to the shaping behaviour,
training tricks using play as a form of control and exercise.
Course Runs Once Fortnightly.
If you have a rescue dog or an older dog that has
not had any social interaction or formal training then it would
be my recommendation to begin with a private lesson where I can
work with you to develop a level of control and confidence before
joining group classes.
Some dogs are not suitable for group training due to aggression
or fear and private lessons will enable you to get better control
without the stress of other dogs and people.
If you have concerns about your dog's behavior such as:
• Aggression towards other dogs or humans
• Fears and Phobias
• House soiling
• Separation Anxiety
You can schedule a behavior consultation with me.
This consultation usually lasts about two hours, during which I
will evaluate your dog and take a detailed behavioral and health
history. We discuss your concerns and determine realistic goals
for a positive outcome. I will work with you to develop a treatment
plan for you and your pet and give you the tools to get you started.
Many simple issues can be resolved in one visit. For more serious
problems, treatment may involve some or all of the following:
• Follow up consults
• Private training
• Group lessons
• Veterinary treatment
If you prefer training at home I can come to you.
I recommend 4 x 90 minutes consultation booked to suit your needs
and available times.
